An interview with Shohreh Agdashloo: “The stoning scene took six days to shoot in an Arab village (the country remains undisclosed for fear of negative publicity), and tens of villagers acted as extras and got to throw stones. The stones, by law, are small, so as to make the punishment for adultery last longer.”

The Director said (in a Q and A session after the premiere in Irvine) that it was shot in Jordan.
Other iranian friends of mine believe it was shot in Afghanistan.
