President Delays, Reconsiders Afghanistan Surge Strategy

During the election, Obama promised an extra 7-10k troops for Afghanistan – but now that the DOD has told him he must send closer to 30k to make a difference in the Afghan conflict, he balks and reconsiders. Pentagon was reportedly all set to announce the deployment of 17k, but the brakes are on now.
