President Barack Obama suffered a setback in his effort to close Guantánamo yesterday after a military judge refused his request to delay the military commission for a detainee accused of planning the 2000 attack on the USS Cole. Judge James Pohl refused to delay the trial of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged mastermind of the 2000 bombing of the navy destroyer at the Yemeni port of Aden that killed 17 sailors.
