What do 2009 Races in New Jersey and Virginia Mean for 2010?

The real first test of Barack Obama’s coattails as President will be in two states he won handily, but currently feature surprisingly capable Republican candidacies. In New Jersey, anti-corruption reputation is boosting Christopher Christie; in Virginia, Attorney General Bob McDonnell is unimpeded by locality and can appeal to moderate constituents. Should be an interesting fall.
