The Dalai Lama is, by all measures, a heroic figure. Except in Beijing, and that’s not going to change, well, ever. So the suggestion from top Obama Asia advisor Jeff Bader: “China should see the Dalai Lama as ‘part of the solution’ on Tibet instead of trying to isolate him.” It’s fun to play pretend.
