Venezuelan Crackdown: Government Arrests Chávez Opponent

For the second time in the past few weeks, Hugo Chavez has jailed a political opponent, smacking down opposition from all corners as the country experiences an economic downturn. Former Defense Minister Raúl Baduel was arrested on corruption charges, just two weeks after an arrest warrant was issued for Chavez’s 2006 election opponent Manuel Rosales.
